8 και μισή την Κυριακή 3 Αυγούστου τα εγκαίνια  της έκθεσης το ΝΕΡΟ στο παλιό Δημοιτκό σχολείο Χώρας.

 

 Η εικαστική έκθεση του καλοκαιριού, με τίτλο ΝΕΡΟ | WATER, εγκαινιάζεται την Κυριακή 3 Αυγούστου στην Πάτμο, και συγκεκριμένα στο Παλιό Δημοτικό Σχολείο της Χώρας. Η έκθεση θα διαρκέσει μέχρι τις 24 Αυγούστου. Τελεί υπό την αιγίδα της Ιεράς Μονής Αγίου Ιωάννου του Θεολόγου Πάτμου αλλά και της Μαριλένας Λιακοπούλου, εξέχουσας προσωπικότητας της σύγχρονης ελληνικής τέχνης και λάτρη της Πάτμου.

 

Σαράντα ένας ζωγράφοι και φωτογράφοι, Έλληνες και ξένοι φίλοι του τόπου μας, συμμετέχουν στην έκθεση, με θέμα το πιο πολύτιμο αγαθό της επιβίωσης, το νερό, σε όλες του τις μορφές. Η έκθεση είναι αποτέλεσμα αλληλεγγύης μεταξύ καλλιτεχνών μονίμων κατοίκων του νησιού, Ελλήνων και ξένων θερινών κατοίκων, καθώς επίσης και φίλων του ιερού νησιού.

Με τα έργα τους οι καλλιτέχνες υμνούν την ομορφιά του Αιγαίου και της Πάτμου, αλλά επισημαίνουν ταυτοχρόνως την εύθραυστη ισορροπία του θαλάσσιου οικοσυστήματος που κινδυνεύει από την ρύπανση και την υπεραλίευση.

H έκθεση, που παρουσιάζεται στην περίοδο ξηρασίας του ελληνικού καλοκαιριού, θέτει ως στόχο επίσης να ενθαρρύνει, μέσω της τέχνης, τον διάλογο για τις πηγές και τις χρήσεις του γλυκού νερού και να ευαισθητοποιήσει το κοινό για την ορθότερη διαχείριση του νερού.

Group Exhibition of Contemporary Art and Photography

NEPO | WATER, a group exhibition of contemporary art and photography, will take place at the Old Primary School, Chora, Patmos, from 3-24 August 2014. The exhibition takes place under the aegis of the Holy Monastery of St. John the Theologian of Patmos, and also of Mrs. Marilena Liakopoulou, legendary gallerist and resident of Patmos.

Some of the most distinguished Greek and Philhellene painters and photographers have come together on the island of Patmos to celebrate water in all its forms. This stunning exhibition of paintings and photographs is the result of solidarity between full time residents of Patmos, Greek and foreign summer residents, and friends of the island: more than 40 artists united for a common cause, water, which is important to everyone. The exhibition celebrates the beauty of the Aegean and of Patmos, but also draws attention to the fragility of the marine ecosystem, under threat from pollution and overfishing. It aims through art to create dialogue about fresh water sources and uses, and to raise awareness of water shortage and wastage during the driest period of the year on the island
